How to Play Court Piece

Call trump from five cards; first team to seven tricks takes the hand.

Start playing

Teams and Trump

4 players, partners across the table. The player after the dealer gets 5 cards, calls trump from them, then everyone is dealt the rest (13 each).

Play

The caller leads. Follow suit if you can; otherwise play anything, and a trump wins. The highest card of the suit led wins if no trump is played.

Winning

The first team to take 7 tricks wins the hand and a point. Take all 13 — a kot — and it counts 3.
